Pura Vida

Pura Vida is a duo from Uppsala that plays music for all kinds of festive occasions. Disco, rock, schlager and pop are mixed with Latin American music such as reggae, salsa, samba and forró. Pura Vida is Milton Roman electric bass, choir, Staffan Björklund vocals, keytar, accordion, trumpet and guitar. They use high quality recorded backgrounds, loop pedal and accordion/synth/guitar to accompany the bass and vocals.

Milton is a professional musician from Costa Rica and has worked in Sweden with Roberto Arán, Torbjörn Langborn Latin Jazz Trio, the salsa band Orquesta Vasquez/Salserismo, among others.

Staffan has just returned to Sweden from Benidorm where he has been singing Elvis full time, ”Blonde Elvis”. He is also the pianist/ accordionist in the internationally touring band French Latino and has also toured with his solo loop project Solo Per Uno in Spain, Slovenia, Turkey, Germany, etc. He plays in the world music band Morfis from Uppsala and has studied music in Cuba, Bulgaria, Serbia and Sweden.
