Join us on a study visit to Ängsö Fisk
Now you have the chance to join a study visit to Pauline & Per Vidlund at Ängsö fisk!
Sunday, September 14 at. 13 we gather outside the fish shop where Pauline & Per greet us. Then we walk together about 150 m down to the lake with piers & boats. For those who have difficulty walking, we help with transportation down to the lake. Then we go up to the fish exhibition, smokehouse, fish processing and then end the study visit at the fish shop.
During the study visit, we get a deeper insight into the life of professional fisherman Per Vidlund with fishing, processing, the development of our own selective gear for gentle fishing, boats, handling, quality work and information about the close cooperation with the star chefs & Michelin restaurants.
Per will talk about fishing conditions, laws and regulations, leases, environment & health and food management. We will look at the fish species found in the lake and tell you why some species have disappeared and inform you about what is the solution to restore species richness.
Pauline & Per will also talk about their work with the fish shop and Fiskarfruns café, which over the years developed into a restaurant business, and about new and fun collaborations with external parties. Pauline will also offer some different smoked samples. Find your favorite!
The study visit takes approximately 75 minutes. Remember to take clothes according to the weather as most of the study visit takes place outdoors.
Around 14.30, coffee/tea and a hearty sandwich with cheese, ham from Carlströms and some vegetables are served. The sandwich is available vegetarian, gluten-free and milk-free. Specify your wishes in the registration.
Hopefully the day will be fine and we can sit outside. Seating is also available under cover in the lodge and in the fish exhibition.
The fish shop will be open for those who may want to buy smoked & fresh or frozen fish.
At 16:00, the visit ends and the fish shop closes for the day.
The maximum number of participants is 30, so register early to secure your place.
