Kasteel Ekolsund is een 18e-eeuws juweeltje verscholen in weelderig groen. Koning Gustav III was erg gesteld op Ekolsund en in zijn jeugd genoot hij van het plattelandsleven op het kasteel met jagen, feesten en steekspelen. Tegenwoordig herkennen veel mensen het kasteel en de omgeving van de TV4-hit Biggest Loser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Er zijn dertien beplante lanen in het kasteelpark, voornamelijk met lindebomen. Sommige bomen staan er al sinds de 17e eeuw! De parkomgeving is niet alleen mooi om in te wandelen, maar de vele edele loofbomen zijn ook perfecte habitats voor bijzondere soorten insecten, korstmossen en schimmels. Er is ook een arboretum, een plantage met veel verschillende soorten bomen en struiken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het kasteelcaf\u00e9 en de winkel bevinden zich bij de noordelijke ingang van het kasteel. Lunch en koffie worden hier geserveerd, en je kunt binnen in het kasteel zitten of op het buitenterras midden in de prachtige kasteelomgeving. In de winkel vind je onder andere koninklijke kronen en mantels die kinderen in echte prinsen en prinsessen veranderen, maar ook lokale levensmiddelenambachten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je kunt rondleidingen krijgen door zowel het kasteel als het park. Ekolsund heeft goede conferentiefaciliteiten en als je een bruiloft plant, ben je hier aan het juiste adres! Prachtige trouwlocaties zowel binnen als buiten en de mogelijkheid voor 90 gasten om te overnachten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het W\u00e4rdshuset opende zijn deuren al in 1770 en is door de jaren heen een populair knooppunt geweest als herberg en postkantoor. Tegenwoordig is het d\u00e9 plek voor lekker eten en drinken in een prachtige historische omgeving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Als je wilt overnachten, zijn er veel verschillende opties, van de suite van Gustav III in het kasteel tot eenvoudige accommodatie in het Canallad met gedeelde douche en toilet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
