Het was dus een belangrijke plaats, zowel omdat de koning af en toe op het landgoed verbleef als omdat het het administratieve centrum voor het gebied was. We weten dat Birger Jarl, Magnus Ladul\u00e5s en Birger Magnusson hier woonden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De kerk werd aan het begin van de 14e eeuw gebouwd op het land van het landgoed. Meer dan 150 jaar later werd het voorportaal gebouwd en werden er bakstenen bogen over het schip en het koor gemetseld. De gewelven waren rijkelijk versierd met ornamenten en figuurschilderingen van een onbekende kunstenaar. In 1770 werden ze witgekalkt omdat de mode van die tijd schone, witte kerkruimtes voorschreef. Maar in 1859 was de slinger omgeslagen en werden de schilderingen weer aangebracht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zelfs als je de kerk niet in kunt, moet je van de gelegenheid gebruikmaken om de oostelijke zolderbetimmering te bekijken. Een ervan dateert waarschijnlijk uit de 14e eeuw en heeft gebeeldhouwde, gestileerde bladornamenten. Er zijn ook twee runenstenen in de kerkmuur verwerkt, beide gemaakt door de productieve runenmeester Balle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-tiled-gallery aligncenter
