Tenzij voorbijgangers een stok naar de stapel gooien, zouden zowel het intrigerende verhaal als de stapel zelf uiteindelijk verdwijnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">M\u00e5ngelskh\u00f6gen is een herdenkingsplaats van de meer ongebruikelijke soort. Op deze plek vond ooit, lang geleden, een moord plaats. Om te voorkomen dat de dode weer zou lopen en om zichzelf te beschermen tegen ongelukken, begonnen voorbijgangers een droog takje of twijgje op de plek te gooien. Al snel werd het een grote hoop. Deze gewoonte wordt offerwerpen genoemd en kwam vroeger op veel plaatsen in Zweden voor waar iemand een plotselinge of onnatuurlijke dood was gestorven. Soms werden er takjes gegooid, soms munten of stenen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vandaag de dag ligt M\u00e5ngelskh\u00f6gen aan een rustige bosweg, maar de weg heeft een geschiedenis als een veelgebruikte snelweg met de naam Tingsv\u00e4gen. Twee moonshiners ontmoetten elkaar hier op weg van de markt (een moonshiner was een handelsvrouw die haar waren op haar rug droeg).
