Op een steenworp afstand ligt een hoge en smalle runesteen met een lange en spannende inscriptie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het getuigt van een van de grote tragedies uit de Vikingtijd - de Ingvar-trein in 1040, toen 700 mannen in 30 schepen op reis gingen naar het oosten. De expeditie kwam abrupt tot een einde in het huidige Georgi\u00eb en bijna niemand keerde terug naar huis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Er zijn meer dan twintig runestenen in M\u00e4lardalen die over de noodlottige reis vertellen. De runesteen in Varpsund is opgericht voor Gunnlev, die \"de Knarr goed kon besturen\". De Knarr was een groot zeevarend koopvaardijschip met ruime laadruimen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-tiled-gallery aligncenter is-style-rectangular\"><div
