Landverschuiving heeft het landschap ten noorden van het M\u00e4larmeer volledig veranderd. In de Bronstijd, zo'n 3000 jaar geleden, was wat nu akkerland is grotendeels bedekt door water en kwam hoger gelegen land omhoog als kleine eilandjes. Het was een archipellandschap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mensen uit de bronstijd kerfden ontelbare beelden en symbolen in de vlakke rotsen bij het water. Tegenwoordig liggen deze rotsen ver landinwaarts, maar ze zijn nog steeds even fascinerend om naar te kijken als ze moeten zijn geweest voor de vele generaties die ze hebben uitgehakt. Sommige figuren zijn volkomen onbegrijpelijk voor ons, andere zijn vanzelfsprekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het brandhoutschip is een vier meter lange boot met zes roeiers en palen versierd met dierenkoppen met grote oren. De hele boot wordt ondersteund door een menselijke figuur die knielt onder het gewicht. De afbeelding is destijds uitgehouwen in de waterkant, nu een steiger, zodat je het beeld vanuit ongeveer dezelfde hoek kunt bekijken alsof je in een boot op het water zit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Een boswandeling van ongeveer tien minuten brengt je naar het rotssnijwerk. Sommigen beschouwen dit als een van de mooiste bossen van Uppland, dus dit is een excursie met veel hoogtepunten!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
