\u00d6sterunda church is a typical white-plastered Upland medieval church with the red bell tower on a hill just next to it. Construction of the church began in the late 13th century and in the second half of the 15th century the interior was filled with paintings by Albertus Pictor. (In Balingsta, not far from here, a skier is carved on a rune stone. Skiing has ancient roots in Uppland!) Albertus Pictor<\/a>. Here you can, among other things, look at Sweden's oldest painted image of a skier. (In Balingsta, not far from here, there is a skier engraved on a run stone. The paintings in the \u00d6sterunda have been whitewashed and are therefore not in as good condition as Albertus Pictor's paintings in H\u00e4rnevi<\/a> or H\u00e4rkeberga<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The church is beautifully situated and the lawn behind the belfry<\/a> is a nice picnic place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
