Kumla Church is best known for its vibrant, well-preserved paintings of Albertus Pictor<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 15th century, many people in these areas wanted to renovate their churches and beat arches, that is, redo the ceilings, from simple wooden roofs to brick arches, just as in the new large boasting buildings, the cathedrals. The tile roofs were then painted - in Kumla, the prominent church painter Albertus Pictor was responsible for the work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes the church special is that the paintings have never been overpainted, so the colors are strong and clear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kumla, according to Johannes Rudbeckius (bishop of V\u00e4ster\u00e5s in the 17th century), Albert must have signed his works with Pictore Albert beadwork 1482<\/em>, but the signature does not remain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
