The oldest part of the L\u00f6ts church is the sacristy, which probably belonged to an older wooden church. The sacristy was used to store the church's valuables, so it was often the first part to be built of stone. In the second half of the 13th century the whole church was built in stone, and at the end of the 15th century the vaults were built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The F\u00e5n\u00f6\u00f6 estate had great influence over L\u00f6ts church. The small bell in the belfry was donated by Axel Oxenstierna, who was born on F\u00e5n\u00f6\u00f6, and at the end of the 17th century the church's porch was demolished to make way for a burial choir for the owner of the estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interior of L\u00f6ts church is characterized by different periods. The vault paintings are from the end of the 15th century in the style of Albert M\u00e5lare, but produced and improved in 1908. The 17th century can be seen in the very well-preserved Baroque pulpit. Classicism from the decades around 1800 is evident in the altarpiece and gallery with organ. Externally, the medieval church is largely characterized by the neo-style architecture that was common around 1900. In this case, a Romanesque and Gothic Revival style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the front of the chancel are two fine rune stones, U721 and U722, carved by Balle. They are of sandstone and made in relief, which is an unusual technique for rune stones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
