In addition to Doctor Blues' original lineup featuring Tobias Magnusson, Karin Rudefelt, Lennart Olofsson, and Peter Borgstr\u00f6m<\/strong>, the band has now been joined by two new and incredibly talented members;<\/p>\n

Jesper Wihlborg<\/strong> \u2013 guitar (Eva Eastwood, John Holm, Fancy Dan, among others), who, with their extensive experience and virtuoso skill, have broadened the perspective on what the blues can mean<\/p>\n

Hasse Nilsson<\/strong> \u2013 The harmonica (M-Train, Higgins Bluesband, and others), with its stage presence, raw tone, and exceptional playing style, has given the band a whole new sound<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>A Brief History<\/strong><\/p>\n

Doctor Blues<\/strong>\u00a0has established itself as a powerful blues band with a strong live presence and a distinct groove. Over the years, the band has built its sound around raw blues, while drawing openly on influences from other genres. With the songwriter\u00a0Lennart Olofsson<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Karin Rudefelt<\/strong>\u00a0With these frontmen, the band has become known for its intense performances, its musical depth, and its distinctive style, which have been appreciated by both audiences and promoters throughout Sweden and abroad. It\u2019s worth noting that the band plays only its own material, with songwriter Lennart Olofsson responsible for the lyrics and music. In 2015, the founding members were inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame\u2014an American Heritage International Organization.<\/p>\n

Recently, the band has taken a significant step forward by adding new members, which has led to a\u00a0\u201dheavier and a little harder\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0sound \u2013 more dynamics, greater musical range, and an even stronger sense of presence on stage.<\/p>\n

The band has received very positive reviews from venues and promoters, who describe their concerts as magical, groove-driven, and a huge draw for audiences.<\/p>\n

The New Doctor Blues<\/strong>\u00a0is today a close-knit and revitalized blues band with roots in traditional blues but with a more modern, rawer, and more dynamic sound\u2014strongly grounded in the live experience.<\/p>\n

Here's how the band describes itself:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201dDoctor Blues\u201d<\/u><\/strong> is a long-established Swedish blues band with a modern sound. We play raw and progressive blues. Everything we do is rooted in the blues\u2014in that feeling\u2014but we never let the form limit us. We therefore blend influences from various blues genres and eras and also draw inspiration from other genres such as rock, jazz, folk, and funk.<\/p>\n

We compose and arrange vibrant, free-spirited blues that touches the heart. Our goal is to breathe new life into the blues, drawing on influences from traditional blues to create something new. We perform our music in a way that\u2019s groundbreaking for the blues, with lyrics that reflect our times\u2014both in the small and the big ways. All songs are written and arranged by us, and no one else. Together, we create a unique expression where the blues is more of a feeling than a form.\u201d<\/p>\n

The band will celebrate its 45th anniversary in 2026, and the current core lineup has been performing together for the past 20 years. They have performed at the biggest festivals and the hottest blues clubs both in Sweden and abroad.<\/p>\n
