Along the winding road from route 55 towards Balingsta and Wik castle , a mighty, 2.5-metre high rune stone stands on the north side of the road after a few kilometres. It is the Böksta stone - famous for its hunting motif of a skier with bow and arrow, a rider with sword and a hunting falcon. The rune stone has no cross or other Christian symbols.
The skier is considered to be Sweden's oldest preserved depiction of a skier. (The oldest painted skier is found not more than twenty kilometers away, in Österunda.)
