Welcome to a wintertime dining experience.
Rikard Andersson, award-winning chef with experience from Michelin restaurants, visits Alsta and cooks a warming meal with locally produced ingredients*. Rikard, who grew up in Rönna, Biskopskulla, has returned with his wife to their hometown, to our delight!
The meal is shared - like a party - you don't have to give up because you don't have company - we are all each other's company during the meal!
On arrival, you will be served a hot bowl of rich lamb broth with root vegetable julienne. You bring your bowl to the set dining table and find your place as indicated by the seating arrangement. The broth is accompanied by butter and homemade bread of several kinds. Bishop's cobbler, crispy rolls, rye bread and seed cakes
When all the guests have arrived and the broth has been eaten, the starter is served, raw shrimp topped with smetana and duxelles on autumn chanterelles from Richard's own forest.
The main course is served from the generous buffet with grilled local meats, such as lamb from Karlberg and Norwegian ribs cooked on a Swedish pork side. Raw roasted potatoes, potato gratin, béarnaise and red wine sauce, bread and artisanal cheeses from the region are available as accessories. Salads of various kinds are also available on the buffet. The salads contain, among other things, massaged cabbage and legumes from Nordic produce.
When everyone has had their fill of the food, it's time to help themselves to the cake and cookie buffet. There are chocolate & almond cakes, catalan cakes, saffron cakes and several varieties. Coffee and tea are available for
Drinks to buy with the meal include non-alcoholic Nils Oskar Pale Ale and apple must in pure apple varieties, locally produced.
