Open Philosophical Evening Conversations - on MEANING, LIFE & LUST! - 4 sessions - Start January 12
Time
From January 2026 until spring, we will start again and meet at Herresta Lada on the following Mondays once a month and with the following themes;
- What is a rich and meaningful life, January 12
- Hope, worry and uncertainty, February 16
- Elections, decisions and responsibilities, 16 March
- Friendship, relationships and love, April 13
You are warmly welcome to join us for a new season of open discussion evenings linked to the timeless and big questions of life, i.e. curious existential philosophical conversations about what concerns us most in life.
Much of what we are part of in society is heavily influenced from outside (e.g. advertising, lifestyle trends, expectations, etc.). Often it is about how we should live and what we should buy, do or think. We don't always question the information we encounter or fully understand how we are influenced. Turning the question around and looking at ourselves then becomes increasingly important. What is really important to me, how do I want to live, who am I and what creates meaning, desire and joy for me?
Let's take the help of different philosophical thinkers throughout history to explore these life questions together. Over four sessions, one theme per evening will be introduced from the perspective of different philosophers. Then we have open conversations in different forms to explore what it can mean for my and our lives today and beyond. And then we think of conversations that are unpretentious, open and curious. The idea is not to argue or debate but to really explore ourselves in a curious way to find more inspiration and zest for life. Hopefully, we will also learn more about ourselves and from each other.
No prior knowledge is required and it is open to all. We would also like to emphasize that we are non-partisan and non-religious.
