In Örsundaån's beautiful river valley, just outside Fjärdhundra, lies Forsby. In one of the village's old mills, Ibba Andersson and Staffan Larson run a cafe and restaurant with high quality ambitions and great personality. You can sit outside by the mill pond and listen to the sound of the rapids, or in the quiet indoors in Öfre Kaffesalongen.
On Saturdays and Sundays, Ibba fills the old Forsby bakery's stand with delicious pies, tarts, lemon buns, brownies, shortbread cookies with fillings and other treats. If you want something more moderate, choose "Sovel med brød", which is Staffan's lighter, but very sophisticated, dishes; such as, for example, home-grown Faroe salmon with pea pesto and green salad, or country pâté on linderöd pig with pickled red onion and pickled cucumber.
If you are a large group (i.e. more than 8 people) on a bicycle, moped, motorcycle or car, Ibba & Staffan want you to notify at least one week in advance to 0703-79 80 99 so that they can provide the best service.
Fridays are pizza night, where high-class charcuterie from Franzén's found in several varieties. The wine range is also carefully selected with knowledge and commitment.
Forsby mill cafe is part of White guide which brings together Sweden's best cafes. The classification is Masterclass.
Forsby mill cafe is well worth an excursion! Also, keep track of the concerts that Forsby mill music scene summertime arranges in the mill. Maybe you want to stay longer? Forsby mill Bagarstuga, which is adapted for 2 people, is rented weekly.
