Kvekgården

Kvekgården is a well-preserved farmhouse where we can see what life was like in the early 19th century. Bend your neck, because you are stepping into a time when the threshold was high, the doorpost was low, the farm's only cow was small and the pig lived in a stall smaller than your TV.How come this old farm is still here and hasn't been fixed up and expanded like all the other farms? Well, Lotta Lundevall lived here, who took over the farm in 1864 after her father and saw no reason to rebuild and expand.When she died in 1926, the farm was as it had been almost a hundred years earlier and was already unique. Southwest Upplands hometown gille took over and preserved the farm. Today the farm is owned by Upplands fornminnesförening.The farm consists of about ten houses, built in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
