Im Mittelalter war Svinnegarn in den nordischen L\u00e4ndern ein bekannter Name. Man glaubte, dass eine heilende Quelle Krankheiten heilen konnte, und Pilger machten sich auf den Weg nach Svinnegarn, um sich von allen m\u00f6glichen Beschwerden zu befreien. Die Vorhalle und der Dachboden der Kirche waren mit Kr\u00fccken gef\u00fcllt, die die Lahmen und Gebrechlichen wegwarfen, als sie das heilende Wasser tranken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Pilger wurden ermutigt, Geld f\u00fcr die Kirche zu spenden, und im 15. Jahrhundert wurde sie zu einer gro\u00dfen Wallfahrtskirche ausgebaut, zu der auch eine Pilgerherberge geh\u00f6rte. Von der mittelalterlichen Wallfahrtskirche, die im 17. Jahrhundert niedergebrannt und nicht wieder aufgebaut wurde, ist heute allerdings nur noch wenig \u00fcbrig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Innere ist gepr\u00e4gt von der Zeit der gro\u00dfen Macht und des 18. Die wohlhabenden Familien der Region errichteten Wappen und bezahlten f\u00fcr die Kanzel, Altarbilder und mehr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vor der Kirchent\u00fcr befindet sich ein Runenstein (U779), der bis 1946 als Trittstein zwischen der Sakristei und dem Kirchenschiff diente. Die Inschrift lautet: Jorund hat diese Steine nach Jarl, seinem Sohn, aufgestellt. Gott helfe seinem Geist.\u201d<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wenn die Kirche ge\u00f6ffnet ist, k\u00f6nnen Sie auch einen interessanten Stein in der Wand der Vorhalle sehen (U778). Der Text berichtet \u00fcber den Ingvar-Zug. Es war eine gro\u00dfe Expedition nach Osten mit etwa drei\u00dfig Schiffen aus dem M\u00e4lardalen. Sie brachen 1036 auf, aber die Reise endete in einer Katastrophe, und nur eine kleine Gruppe schaffte es, f\u00fcnf Jahre sp\u00e4ter nach Hause zu kommen. Die meisten von ihnen starben an Krankheiten in der N\u00e4he des Schwarzen und des Kaspischen Meers. Es gibt etwa 25 Steine, die die Geschichten der M\u00e4nner erz\u00e4hlen, die mit Ingvar reisten. Der Text auf diesem Stein lautet: Tj\u00e4lve und Holml\u00f6g lie\u00dfen all diese Steine nach Banke\/Bagge, ihrem Sohn, aufstellen.
