Nur einen Steinwurf entfernt steht ein hoher und schmaler Runenstein mit einer langen und spannenden Inschrift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sie ist Zeuge einer der gro\u00dfen Trag\u00f6dien der Wikingerzeit - des Ingvar-Zugs im Jahr 1040, als 700 M\u00e4nner in 30 Schiffen zu einer Reise nach Osten aufbrachen. Die Expedition fand im heutigen Georgien ein j\u00e4hes Ende und fast niemand kehrte nach Hause zur\u00fcck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In M\u00e4lardalen gibt es mehr als zwanzig Runensteine, die von der schicksalhaften Reise erz\u00e4hlen. Der Runenstein in Varpsund wurde zu Ehren von Gunnlev errichtet, der \u201ddie Knarr zu steuern wusste\u201d. Die Knarr war ein gro\u00dfes, seet\u00fcchtiges Handelsschiff mit ger\u00e4umigen Lader\u00e4umen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-tiled-gallery aligncenter is-style-rectangular\"><div
